Drifting in Khorasan is a photographic series conducted in Greater Khorasan, a historic region spreading over several countries in Central Asia. For extended periods of time over the course of two years (2018-2019), I travelled within this region, crossing into and out of modern-day Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. I have explored the region through aimless wanderings, without any predetermined intention to document specific geographic sites or culture. For each trip in the region, I prepared a minimal itinerary, leaving room for improvisation and disorientation. I moved as if I was drifting—both geographically and emotionally. The uncanny landscapes I encountered, and the people within them, appeared to me very familiar, as if they reflected a very intimate part of myself that was both peaceful and solitary.

Drifting in Khorasan (Dériver au Khorasan) est une série photographique réalisée dans le Grand Khorasan, une région historique qui s'étend sur plusieurs pays d'Asie centrale. Pendant de longues périodes sur deux ans (2018-2019), j'ai voyagé dans cette région, entrant et sortant de l'Iran, du Turkménistan, de l'Ouzbékistan et du Tadjikistan. J'ai exploré la région à travers des errances sans but, sans l'intention de documenter des sites géographiques ou des cultures spécifiques. Pour chaque déplacement dans la région, j'ai préparé un itinéraire minimal laissant place à l'improvisation. J'ai bougé comme si je dérivais géographiquement et émotionnellement. Les paysages que j'ai rencontrés, et les gens qui s'y trouvaient, m'ont semblé très familiers, comme s'ils reflétaient une partie très intime de moi-même qui était à la fois paisible et solitaire.
